Below is a memo from WM Sam Laucks:
August 2, 2020
We are planning to have a Stated Meeting at the Lodge on Thursday evening August 6 at 7:30, albeit with a lot of restrictions and modifications because of Covid. We have three new petitions for membership, which we will present and read at the meeting. We will also disseminate information about our Covid protocols and address questions and concerns about related issues. There will be no dinner before the meeting, and we will not have a separate formal program. We will crank up the air conditioner and plan to keep the meeting short!
The Grand Lodge has provided extensive guidelines regarding social distancing, masks, care of regalia and ritual items, as well as modifications of the Lodge Room layout and the Ritual. Masks (covering both mouth and nose) must be worn at all times in the Lodge building, unless you are eating or drinking. Grand Lodge also requires that all persons participating in any Masonic activity (in the Lodge building or elsewhere) must sign a waiver releasing the Lodge from liability from Covid-related issues. These will be available when you arrive.
Although I’d encourage as many members as possible to attend, I understand that vacations, other obligations, and, of course, health concerns, will prevent some from attending. Moreover, we are currently prohibited from allowing more than 25 people in the Lodge at one time. We are therefore asking that all who wish to attend this meeting please contact me or Secretary Michael Keener to reserve a place for you. Members who show up at the meeting without a “reservation” will be permitted to enter ONLY if less than 25 people are present at 7:30. This is a requirement of both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Grand Lodge. We do not have any flexibility to modify it!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Sam Laucks, W.M.
